1. Who Handles The After Sales Service For Venture Cars?

For Venture Cars, we have our in-house workshop, all servicing is done in-house and not outsourced to our network of partners.

2. How Do We Book A Test Drive With You?

3. How Do You Calculate Car Depreciation?

Car Depreciation is calculated this way:
Formula: Price of Car – ( ARF / 2) / 10 years

*ARF = Additional Registration Fees

So for an example if your car cost $80,000 and your ARF is $20,000. This is how it is calculated.
Car depreciation = $80,000 – ($20,000 / 2) /10 year

Your car depreciation is $7000 / year.

4. What Is A Parallel Import Car?

Parallel import car dealers purchase directly from factories producing these vehicles and then import them to Singapore to sell hence the name parallel import car.

Parallel import car dealers do not have any limitation on the brand of vehicles that they can sell and often they can bring in a variety of car models and makes that Authorised Dealers are not selling or made available in Singapore. Authorised Dealers are companies that have won exclusive distribution rights for a particular car brand from the manufacturer of the vehicle.

As a result, a typical parallel import car dealer showroom will showcase a variety of car brands and models.

5. Why Is There A Price Difference Between The Authorized Dealers (AD) and Parallel Importers (PIs)?

There are a few factors that lead to the lower pricing structure.

  1. Lower overhead count as compared to ADs
  2. Less flashy showrooms
6. How Does Venture Cars Handle Car Recall

In the event of vehicle recall, Venture Cars will contact you directly to schedule an appointment to get the affected parts fixed. As direct importers, we have full access to genuine and OEM parts from Japan.

Car Warranty

1. What Does Your Warranty Cover For New Cars?

Our cars come with up to 10 Years / 200,000 km engine warranty and up to 5 Years / 130,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.

In addition, car accessories come with a 1 Year Warranty.

Payment Questions

1. How Soon Can I Get My Car After Placing a Deposit With You?

The short answer to this question is that the timeline varies. How soon is subjected to a number of factors, please refer to our video below.

However a typical time line looks like this:

  • Car will be ordered after the deposit is placed: 2 Days
  • Factory manufacture the car: 1.5 to 3 months
  • Shipping, car chassis number will be provided to you: 12 to 18 days
  • Custom Clearance, OMV amount will be provided to you: 7 days
  • LTA clearance, vehicle approval code will be provided to you: 1 to 2 months
  • Bidding of COE, COE number will be provided to you: 1 to 3 months, in fact we will start evaluating your COE bidding when your car is being shipped to Singapore to hasten your process of getting your car
  • Vehicle Registration: 1 Day

You can track your car status by typing in your allocated order number assigned to you.

2. What Does Guaranteed COE Means?

COE means Certificate of Entitlement. You will need to get your COE before your car is on the road. COEs are bid through the COE Open Bidding System. These bidding exercises are held twice monthly.

Guaranteed COE means that you will definitely get your COE after the promised bid as compared to a non-guaranteed COE package.

Considering that COE bidding takes place twice a month. As a rule of thumb:

  1. A 2 bid guaranteed COE package means that you will get your COE in 1 month
  2. A 4 bid guaranteed COE package means that you will get your COE in 2 months
  3. A 6 bid guaranteed COE package means that you will get your car in 3 months
3. Why Do I Need To Top Up For My COE?

Subjected to the ever changing market conditions and government regulations, at times we might require our customers to top up for their COE if the COE prices goes up too high, however we will give you a heads up before we bid for your COE.

4. How Do I Proceed If I Decide To Order A Car From You?

You will have to place 2 deposits with us:

  • A $5000 deposit to be place with us. This money will be used to secure a car for you.
  • A $10,700 COE deposit is required for us to bid the COE for you.

Remaining downpayment balance to be paid to us before you collect your car from our showroom.

Lingo Terms

1. What Is A VAC Ready Car?

VAC means Vehicle Approval Code.

A VAC ready car is a car that is ready for vehicle registration with Land, Transport and Authority. With a ready COE, car owners may drive off the car after the vehicle has been registered.

2. What Is PARF?

PARF means Preferential Additional Registration Fee. When you deregister your car, you are entitled to PARF rebate which is a percentage of your ARF. To get a more accurate value of your PARF rebate, please refer to Land, Transport Authority, Singapore website.

3. What Is VITAS?

VITAS means Vehicle Inspection & Type Approval System. Vicom is the authorised inspection center for it.

All cars in Singapore have to go through VITAS to ensure that it fulfills the technical requirements before it can be driven on Singapore’s road. For more information, you can visit VICOM’s website for more information.

4. What Does Ready Stock Cars Mean?

Ready stock are cars that are already available in our showroom for sale. There is a shorter waiting period for these cars to get on the road as parallel import car dealers do not need to make a fresh order from the factory.

5. What Does Indent Stock Means?

When a car salesman tells you that he has to indent the car for you. It simply means that the shop does not have that particular car in stock with them and they would need to order the car for you.

6. What Is OMV?

OMV is Open Market Value. It is the actual price of the vehicle. This price is not inclusive of COE, ARF, registration fees, taxes and surcharges . OMV prices can differ even if it is the same vehicle make and model.

7. What Is ARF?

ARF is Additional Registration Fee (ARF). It is a tax imposed upon registration of a vehicle. It is calculated based on a percentage of the Open Market Value (OMV) of the vehicle. For more information, you can refer to the official explanation provided by Land, Transport Authority, Singapore.

What Is A Hybrid Car?

A hybrid car utilises technology to minimise fuel consumption usage. It uses 2 power sources to power the vehicle. The usage of 2 power sources will lead to a reduced in fuel consumption which brings cost savings to the driver.

What Is The Lifespan Of A Hybrid Battery?

Hybrid batteries are built to last for more than 10 years. Toyota and Honda have spent great years perfecting their hybrid technologies and have up their warranty for hybrid batteries to 8 years.
